Barb Glick will celebrate her 100th Birthday on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Barb became a member of Trinity in 1948 so she’s been a member of our church for 76 years. We would like to honor Barb with a card shower. We’re asking all members to bring a birthday card to the church or mail one to the church. It doesn’t have to be a “100th Birthday” card. Any birthday card will do. Barb’s daughter, Claudie Huey, will take the cards to Barb on her birthday.There is a table in Room 10 for cards to be collected. We also have cards available for you. Just pick one up at the table. Thank you for joining in the celebration of this milestone birthday!
Lutherans for Life will again participate in the Life Chain on Sunday, October 6, 2024. This will take place at the Planned Parenthood facility at 2709 N. Knoxville Ave in Peoria and stretch north and south from there along Knoxville. We will gather there at 2:00 p.m. and quietly stand for one hour along both sides of the street holding signs provided by Central Illinois Right to Life. Life Chain is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of pro-life. Americans standing for one hour praying for our nation and for an end to abortion. It is a visual statement of solidarity by the Christian community that abortion kills children and tat the Church supports the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception.
All those who love and support our Lutheran school are invited to the kick-off where we'll share exciting news about the kick-off of our capital campaign: Moving Forward As One In Christ! The evening will feature an open house of our school building and grounds, a delicious fish fry dinner donated and prepared by volunteers, prayer, a campaign introduction, and a performance by our school choir. We are thankful that God has given us an opportunity to bless children around the world by packing shoe box gifts for Operation Christmas Child. We are asking for you to bring in NEW items to help fill shoe boxes for boys and girls ages 2 - 4; 5 - 9 and 10 - 14. Gifts do not need to be expensive. You might try searching the dollar stores in town. Check out the display in Room 10 by the coat rack for a list of acceptable items. Please remember items need to fit inside an average size shoe box.
Trinity’s youth are invited to join the youth of St. John's, Pekin for a wiener roast on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. We will meet at the picnic shelter in Marquette Heights Park, on the corner of Lasalle Blvd. and Sangamon Rd. in Marquette Heights. The park has a nice disc golf course, so anyone who wishes may bring discs and play the course. We will have other game equipment available, as well. All food and drinks are provided. The 2024 flower chart is up on the bulletin board in the hallway by the 4th Street entrance. Simply sign your name by the date you wish to donate flowers. A form will be sent to you when your date is near. Dates are chosen on a first come first serve basis.
Trinity, Pekin, will host the Small Church Summit on Saturday, February 22, 2025. If there is inclement weather that day it will be moved to Saturday, March 1, 2025. More information will be available in the coming months. Please plan on attending! All are welcome!

Volunteers are needed each Sunday for the following. 1) Giving rides to members wanting to come to church but do not have any transportation. If you can help with this please contact Debbie Fornoff or the church office at 309-346-1391. 2) Picking up donuts. 3) Helping in the kitchen Sunday to serve donuts, coffee and juice. At the September 14 Voter’s Assembly Meeting it was approved to proceed to one Sunday worship service. Beginning Sunday, October 1 there will be one worship service at 9:00 am with Sunday School at 10:15 a.m. Communion will be held on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays of each month.
